How about a "Lost" themed Mafia game? Seems perfect, for anyone who doesn't watch the show: you'd have the Survivors of the plane crash, the "Others" (Mafia) inhabiting the Island, then you'd have a Doctor (Jack), a Torturer/Lie Detector (Sayid), and a Tracker (Kate).
The Others would have a hierarchy too, with Jacob being the Godfather, Ben being a Usurper, and the rest of the Others being regular Mafia Goons.

I'm wanting to do a Mafia game based on the new
Batman: Arkham Asylum
game. The idea would be that the town are the inmates who are trying to stop Batman's peeps from escaping the island. Working on flavor ideas and game mechanics, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

I've been working on a couple of games based on some Valve games, like Team Fortress 2 and the original Half Life. However, I was also thinking about Valve Mafia in general, a Large or Mini Theme where various characters from Valve games end up mashed together.
Would anyone be interested in this?
I'd absolutely be down for this. <3 all Valve games.

Considering doing a WoW-themed uPick where each person would pick their race, class, and gender and I'd randomly assign mafia/not mafia/third party amongst those people. Different in-game actions would case you to 'level up' and you could choose which abilities to learn.

I'm looking for a creative type/writer to help me start a series of games based on completely original flavor. This game has a long period of planning and probably won't run until after the summer. It will be a Large Theme, but I have priorities before I run this one:
1) Modern Family Mafia
2) Lost: The Final Season
3) Reck's Mad Mad Mad Mad Mind II
After these are complete, I'd like to run the first iteration of this series. If you're interested in helping out with flavor/story... or even a bit of setup designing... let me know.

Seems kinda pointless to me, since if the scum reach 3:3 endgame, they can just force a no lynch and kill off the rest of town anyway. It just allows scum to win earlier:
D1 A lynch = 4:5:3
N1 A kill = 3:5:3
D2 A lynch = 2:5:3
N2 A lynch = 1:5:3
D3 A lynch = 0:5:3, scum win
All it would do is potentially shorten the game by one cycle, so the mechanic isn't really that worth it.

Has "Philosophy Mafia" ever been done? It could be cool having different philosophers in the game, and all their theories/stances relate to roles/abilities?

I'll be running
Arrested Development Mafia
soon, and I'm looking for people to talk design with me! I'm bouncing between a mechanic-heavy game with 9 players, or a role-heavy game with 13 players. Let me know if you feel like helping out!

Alright, so I'm trying to design my original theme trilogy... and I have two different options to go with. One is very sci-fi, involving aliens and other planets and government conspiracies... the other is very dystopian, taking place just after the "apocalypse" with the world trying to rebuild. I have a lot of room to go with the stories. I like the design process of the stories, so if anyone wants to take part in helping create the full universe these games will exist in, I'm looking for a brainstormpartner.

Hmmm. I was thinking up an idea for a game earlier... essentially, it'd be two games run simultaneously, doesn't matter the size, both closed setups... however, the players know that both games have the
exact
same setup. So flips in one game can effect flips in another.

I had an idea for Vino Mafia, a game based on wine/the winemaking process.
I was thinking some kind of mechanic where certain players would control vineyards, other players would control the wineries, and there'd be some kind of mechanic where certain grapes being sent to certain wineries would produce certain powers or results. The idea is still really vague in my head, but I'm wondering if:
1) Anybody would be interested in playing
and
2) Anybody would be interested in helping to design the mechanics of the game

After playing risk legacy, I think it'd be cool to run a series of mafia games where the next installments are directly affected by what happens in the previous games. It'd slowly evolve from a fairly normal series into role madness.

So, I have a weird idea for mechanics involving the flavor of the NC Scummer Commune. Since it'd be a Scummers Mafia themed game, I bring this here for multiple reasons:
#1) I wouldn't be able to run it as an invitiational, per my punishment for /in15 with quadz.
#2) Given the controversy over my flavor in /in15, I wanted to gauge interest in the game.
Now, I would
know
the people involved (as in, these are all people I've spent and do spend ample time with in REAL LIFE so there wouldn't be the anger factor) but it feels like a very niche theme. I think I could come up with some really interesting roles for this particular theme, so yeah. This is to get a finger on the pulse of what people would think about me running said game, and if there'd be any interest. I could see me running it as a private thing where everyone just trusts I've learned from my mistakes, or as a peer-reviewed thing where I made sure to send each person who was a role in the game a copy of their PM to let them approve or deny it.

Again, if that was the case people deemed acceptable, I'd have to see if there was a market for a mechanic heavy game based on Scummers flavor. Hence the post.

The other option would be running all the PMs by a neutral person in the Commune who also knows everyone and could tell me if something wasn't acceptable. But, again, these people are my real life friends and I love them all, so it wouldn't be mean spirited.
During this phase, they can normally vote for someone. There will be certain hidden evidence items that can be found by both town and scum that can be used for Phase Two based on performance. The person with the most votes will be the "Defendant" for Phase Two. The first person on the "Defendant" wagon will be the "Prosecutor". There is no lynching during this phase.
Phase Two: Courtroom Phase (X days)
Evidence can be used during this phase. Normal lynch mechanics apply. Defendant will receive certain powers and a "Hated" modifier for that day. Prosecutor will receive certain powers that day as well.
Night
Normal night kill mechanics.
Anyways, this is still in planning stages but please tell me what you guys think.
