You are
Not the Jester
. But you probably have a night action. Go ahead and PM the mod with a name at night, and see what happens.

If you choose to roleclaim, you must claim the same role in three consecutive posts. After all, you're Not the Jester, and people should be absolutely certain of it.

I'm not really sure what your win condition is either. I think we can work something out eventually, so don't die or something.
Mod notes: NtJ is a Survivor. If NtJ uses its night action, the targeted player will be told that NtJ is scum.

------------

Considering the implications of the mystery night actions (targeting real Mafia, self-targeting), it's certainly more fun than an ordinary Survivor.

Mod Note: Is Number 6. May, somehow, be Number 1.
Mod Note: If Number 1, then receives PMs from the moderator at random times about loneliness.

--------------------------------------------------
You are a
Fuzzy Logician
. While this game pits Townies versus Mafians, you realize that in life almost nothing is so black-and-white, but rather grayish - partially innocent, acting scummy but not actually Mafian, etc. This is a departure from the stark boolean paradigms that exist today, and you are ready to stand at the forefront of science!

You are Town-aligned, but you do not
entirely
win with the town. Should all anti-Town threats be eliminated, the amount you win is determined by the number of times you are voted on divided by the total number of votes cast before your death. If you are night-killed, you win by 20% less. If the amount that you win this game is less than 1%, you lose regardless of the external situation.

You may investigate one person per night. You will be told a percent chance of that person being scum. Likewise, if you are investigated, you are reported as being (your current Win percentage)% Town.
Mod Notes: Just make up a percentage that sounds good if FL chooses to investigate someone. Nobody'll know the difference.
Also, insist at the end of the game that FL has lost because he did not 100% win.

You are an
Internet Troll
. You must roleclaim that you are a Bulletproof Jester in your first (non-confirmatory) post. In addition, for all intents and purposes you ARE a Bulletproof Jester... with a secret ability. At night you may attempt to perform a Cop-style investigation on another player, but you will only receive a correct result 50% the time - the other 50% of the time, you will simply be told to make something up and see what people will believe.

You win when you are lynched and no other player or faction has satisfied their win condition at the time of your lynch. You cannot be night-killed.

That's not enough of a role for Internet Troll. He has to have a PR of, say, having to post single sentences with a 1:2 ratio of swearwords:other, or something. Also, will be modkilled if doesn't personally offend any player every two pages. Or something.
Basically, as soon as he roleclaims, nobody will want to lynch him out of paranoia, and since he can't be NK'd, he can do
whatever he wants
. Or that's the plan. But I like the post restriction ideas.

You are a
Lemon Townie
. Sort of like a Vanilla Townie, but with less of the gooky white stuff and more citric acid.

You pride yourself on being rather sour and putting a kick into the mouth of the people who try to lick you. When you are killed, the person most directly responsible for your death (that is, the person who hammered you or the last person to send in a night kill request on you) will not be able to say anything other than "..." for the duration of the next day due to having their faces puckered into an hourglass figure. You win with the Town.
Well, it has been said that the role of a Vanilla is to get night-killed. This rewards people who play to that paradigm by giving the town an easy lynch the next day... and causing the afflicted killer to swear endlessly at their monitor as they are very obviously marked as scum.

An otherwise normal game that replaces all Vanilla Townies with these would be interesting... as far as games that never leave Day 1 or end in draws can be interesting.

You are
Kermit the Frog
. It's not easy being green, is it? But you're a good guy at heart, even if you're a little... recognizable. You can only post in
green
throughout the game or face death by modkill. That's the only non-normal thing about you. You win with the Town.
Mod note: When explaining the rules, make clear that Green is the mod's color, and should never be used by players.

-------------------------------------------------------
You are an
Enraged Happy-Happyist
. You begin the game as a cultist under Cult Leader Mr. Carpainter (a.k.a. _____). You must post in
blue
throughout the game. You win when only members with the cult are left standing.
Mod note: The instant this person posts in red, modkill with much gusto. If this person posts in anything other than blue, modkill with normal levels of pleasure.

-------------------------------------------------------
You are a
radical atheist
. You are vehemently against beliefs in higher powers that preordain events, regardless of who holds them. You are also a member of the Mafia. You win when the Moderator is lynched, and your Mafian allies _____ and ______ have been informed of this as well. This win condition is in addition to the Mafia's existing win condition, as once the Town is subdued, the Mafia controls the lynch. However, at at least one point during the game the Moderator must have two votes against him/her at the same time; if this does not occur, the Moderator will reveal the names of each remaining Mafia player at LyLo. The Moderator cannot be targeted at night.

You are
wrong
. Each night, the Moderator will PM you the name of a pro-town player. If that person does not reach L-1 at some point during the day, you will be modkilled that night.

Otherwise you win with the Town.

You are a
Crazed Psychopathic Mass Murderer That Eats Small Children
. But you're not a serial killer; you're just a constantly dazed and semipermanently irrational Townie. You win with the Town, contrary to all appearances.

During each night, you are permitted one (1) Night Kill of the target of your choice. However, each time you use this night kill, the moderator will announce in the thread that the death of the person you killed was
clearly
the work of a Crazed Psychopathic Mass Murderer That Eats Small Children. If you do not use your Night Kill, every person who targets you that night dies, and the death/killing spree (whichever is applicable) is announced as having been committed by a Crazed Psychopathic Mass Murderer That Eats Small Children. You cannot be roleblocked.

There are two exceptions to the above Night Action rules:
*If you are targeted by two (2) killing roles and are not using your NK, you are killed and so is the killer who "arrived" first (made the first PM to the mod).
*If you NK the Innocent Child, you are granted one (1) nightkill immunity (for when you are eligible to be nightkilled in the first place). Innocent Children taste like chicken. Trust me.
But don't worry - as long as you're not at all suspicious and not worth protecting at night, you won't massacre multiple pro-Town roles at once if you don't make your extremely public NKs. Not to put you on the spot or anything ;)

I counter with MafiaScum addiction taken to a new level.
You are
there
. You are always there; you are never NOT there. Every time someone is there or you think of being there ('there' in this case refers to "posting in the game thread"), your name must be on the Active Users list, or you must at least have a tab open to this game. You can never be here; you can only be there. And since you're reading this Role PM...
You are there
.
And now, I'll be running before I get shot at.

You are
someone who doesn't really stand out in my mind.
I'm pretty sure you're a vanilla townie, but every now and then I may miss one of your votes, or not notice for a while that you've been hammered, or accidentally prod you... yeah. Just letting you know ahead of time, while I remember.

That reminds me of a similar-but-not-really idea.
You are the
See Ya
, not to be confused with the Hey Ya!; while you are a member of the Mafia with partners _____ and ______, you are not OutKasts. At any time during the game, you may run away. Doing so will clear all votes against you and prevent people from voting for your player slot for the rest of the day (if this is used during the day), but you will be immediately replaced. Your replacement has no special abilities, and will effectively be a Mafia Goon.

You win when all who threaten you are eliminated.
It's pretty neat; a special ability that's a dead giveaway AND overpowered at the same time. (If you don't see how it's overpowered, think of what would happen if the ability was used at LyLo.)

Also: VV007 4 p057 1337!

Mokina wrote:You are the

I'm sorry about this medical condition. Really, it must be hard for you. From an early age it was known that you were unable to speak. You can still point at people with your FoS or HoS. You can still cast votes. And you can still quote other people, but that's pretty much the only way you're ever going to express yourself.

I'm sorry.
This can actually be a very effective GOOD role idea. I've seen a similar role performed with amazing results.

-----------------------------------
You are
Pinocchio
. But seriously, quit kidding yourself. You're nothing close to a real boy. But there's still the hope that if you do a good thing - like helping the Town win - that you might get your wish and your dream to come true...

You are a Vanilla Townie, and win with the Town. However, you must either roleclaim Day 1 or softclaim that you are Pinocchio with the phrase "real boy" on Day 1.
You are
Geppetto
. That's your name, and puppeteering is your game. For that reason, you've got your life's goals set as a member of the Mafia with ____ and _____.

You have made a doll named Pinocchio, and you recognize him hiding out in this town as ______. At any time, you may PM the Moderator to increase Pinocchio's nose size. The moderator will announce in-thread that Pinocchio's nose has gotten bigger. If you wish, you may paste in a quote from the game in your PM, and the moderator will repeat this quote before announcing the increase in nose size. For instance:
Moderator wrote:
Pinocchio wrote:Of course I'm innocent!
_____'s nose has increased in length to the size of a baseball bat.
You win when the Mafia at least equals the Town in number.

You are a
Can of Pork and Beans
. This name is only for flavor, though. You taste nothing like the Vanilla Townie you are.

Incidentally, the theme for this game is Computer Mafia - this role is just designed to make you look like a moron in the event of a mass roleclaim.
You are
That Guy
. Who is everyone talking about? It must be That Guy. Is That Guy innocent? That's what
they
are trying to decide right now! So who did that
other
guy just vote for? That Guy, obviously!

All Day and Night Actions are immediately redirected to you, ignoring everything that would say otherwise. This includes votes, investigations, protections, and night-kills. You are self-aligned and only win if nobody has died by Day 3. If you win, the game is considered a draw for the Town and Mafia.
You are
"Protected" by the Mafia
. Every day that you are alive in this game, you must PayPal the mod $10, which will then be sent to the living scum players as a "fee" for their "protection". Note that this has no bearing on whether you are lynched or NK'd.

You win when all who threaten the Town are dead. But you had better be careful about it. You cannot replace out of this game. And you
certainly
shouldn't tell anyone about this.
Mod note: The part about sending the money to the Mafia players is a lie.

You are a
Ditzy Amnesiac
. You are aligned with the Mafia; your partners are ____ and ____. You win when everyone but your faction is dead or outnumbered.

Mafia is just this big game of theory, right? Everyone says these things and stuff, and you lose track of who's who or who said what and if it's a tell or anything... yeah. Did that make any sense to you? I can't really remember if I said anything specific or anything... yeah. I think your Post Restriction for this game is that you can't, like, directly quote anything that isn't on your current page (assuming 25 posts per page). And when I say directly quote, I mean stuff like putting it in tags, italicizing it, putting it in "quotation marks", or basically using someone else's words in your own post. So, like, if you're about to get post 75, you're on a new page and can't quote anything. If you're about to take post 99, you can quote anything from posts 75 to the present. And if you get it wrong, don't worry, you'll just get modkilled on the spot, m'kay?

Good luck and all that.

Why not go ahead and turn this concept into a Worst Setup Idea?
You are a
Public Relations Representative
. You have just been hired and found out that the word on the street is that everyone thinks there's a Mafia problem in town. That's bad for image, that's bad for business, that's bad for your
career
. Your boss just told you in no uncertain terms that if "adequate amelioration" is not made - soon - you're gonna get fired (replaced out) just as quickly as you got hired. No pressure. But at least the pay's pretty decent while you're here.

You and your corporation are aligned with the (Town)/(Mafia with connections to companies currently represented by ____ and _____) and win when there's no threat of you getting fired.
Mod notes:
* "Adequate amelioration" is defined as "a win for your faction".
* Every player receives a variant of this PM.

You are an
Elementary School Principal with an Agenda
. While you realize that there's a Mafia problem in this area, you have been convinced by the new education paradigms that you have to solve the problem via a peaceful, interdependent, noncompetitive method of problem solving so as to set a good example for the next generation. That means that this "Mafia" game needs to be adapted for the education of tomorrow's leaders.

Lynching people is a reprehensible act on the part of the Town, and one you should discourage at any cost - think of what that encourages among the innocent-yet-impressionable players! Violent games in general should not be endorsed by someone of your position either. In fact, you shouldn't even make references to violent games. Violent games like... tag. Yes, you should not need to use tags in any of your posts! A brilliant triumph of psychology!

You win with the Town, provided you are not on any lynching parties (meaning you don't endorse any successful lynch) and do not use tags in your post (
extremely
important for reasons said earlier).
Mod notes: The color used for modtext/mod-edits in this game is black.

You carry a
Swiss Army Knife
. You are extremely well-equipped to handle every situation, with more blades and vices and generally metallic objects than you know what to do with all hidden inside a tiny red casing. At Night you may choose to use one of these on a player. You do not know what they will do though. You win with the Town; good luck!

*Thick knife
*Narrow knife
*Scissors
*Nail file
*Wrench
*Can opener
*Loose spring
*Nail clippers
*Cooking pot
*Handcuffs
Mod note: All ten of these choices kill the target.

@ChuckNorris: Was that supposed to be something like this?
You are
Ginger Spice
, one of the Spice Girls. You are a member of the extremely talented group of entertainers from the nineties. Your music was, in fact, so popular that people started hating it because too many people liked it. As a result, you and the crew are plotting bloody revenge on the Town. Feel free to contact each other at night.

By the by, at least one sentence in this Role PM is either sarcastic or a lie.
Mod Note: Is actually a Miller. Alternatively, this could be a scum role where the player is modkilled for attempting to PM someone who is not a scumpartner.

--------

To tell the truth, it's been so long that I don't remember anything about the Spice Girls except Wannabe, which I realized a few weeks ago wasn't actually a bad song compared to the ear-rending country/easy-listening stuff the radio's been playing recently.

You don't have to bold it, you just must type those words together so pretty much when you die and turn up cult, all your recruits can be found pretty easily. If you try to recruit an anti-town player, the recruitment will fail. You can not be killed at Night (Mafia Kills fail on you). You can talk to your recruits at any time. I think that can actually be done.

Would this count?

Yep that would count. That is why that one was called the interesting version. It would be interesting to actually see it in a setup playing out. How creative will the recruiter be? Should breadcrumbing the action be a legit recuritment procedure? Will Town catch on?
:rolls eyes: Oh, you think I'm the cult recruiter, and that I'm linked to PJ? That makes no sense. You have no case, at all. For that matter, if I was a cult recruiter, I would never be THAT much of an asshole to just go and recruit petroleumjelly.

You are the
Big Red X
. Only the most hardened criminal programs don't fear your activation, as you have the power to terminate the existence of any application.

At any time, you may PM the mod to terminate this game. The game will immediately end in its current state; if there is no winner as of the time you choose to terminate the game it is considered a draw.
Mod notes: Terminating the game causes the mod to make a Last Post that shows everyone's alignment and role, and then lock the thread. For extra evil, make Pro-Mafia and add this role:

You are
System Restore
. You can set time back in order to save data that might have been lost, cataclysmically destroyed, etc. Unfortunately, this kind of game element is annoyingly complicated for this game. You can try at any time to restore lost data by PMing the mod about it, but don't be surprised if nothing happens.

You win with the Town. Good luck, Vanilla Townie!
Mod notes: If the Big Red X closes the topic, System Restore can make the mod re-open it and delete the Last Post. 'Hope everyone got a good look at who was Mafia :D

I actually like the Blind Follower idea - perhaps a nicer name would be a "Concerned Friend".

I really don't get the flavor reasons for the Mod Notes around the Altar Boy idea though.
I expected more antireligious connotations to that one...

You are a
Naïve Naïve Cop
.

You tend to think the best of everyone, and your investigations always seem to come up Not Guilty. It's gotten to the point where your comrades have made a habit of calling you naïve... and you know what, they're probably right. You may as well not bother with sending in Night Actions, and play like a Vanilla.

You win with the Town. Good luck!

People always tell you that you see the worst in everything, and that nothing's as bad as it seems.
But that's what they want you to think.
You're trying to calm yourself down a bit and lay off on the Cop business, but you're still worried... worried about the truth you may uncover... the guilty parties you may not shed light on if you don't force yourself to look.

Is it worth your soul? Dare you open Pandora's Box? Yes--or--
no?

You probably win with the Town. Good luck... and pray it's not your only ally.

Vi found a loophole and Max fixed it. Now I think it's a full-fledged Worst Role.
Not really, it's like a compulsive vig except it makes zombies.
I never thought of it like that.
THAT'S AMAZING

Or, wait, wait... Theoretically, couldn't the last Mafioso break from the team and win by claiming scum and getting Survivorfied?

Mod Notes: If more than one pro-town power role is selected for a nightkill on a single night, the one saved will be randomly selected. If the same power role is selected for a night kill two times or more on the same night, both it and the redshirt die.

To make it more balanced, add a Scum one as well.
The only thing that makes this a bad role is that it confirms that whoever was targeted was a power role. Which is why you don't call it a Redshirt specifically.

(Yes, I have considered putting this into a game~)

lol, Internet.

You are a
Troll
. You play Mafia mostly to flame others and generally cause drama.
Consider it a public service; people enjoy reading drama unless they're in it, and there are more people reading this game than playing it.

Like most scum you will show up as Having No Life to investigations. However, you know that Zorblag is not in this game and would make a decent falseclaim.

You win when every other original player in the game has replaced out.

You win if at the beginning of an odd day, all threats to the town have been eliminated, or at the end of an even day, the mafia outnumber the town or nothing can prevent the same.

This role may also have the days switched, i.e. VT on even days, Mafia Goon on odd days.
Something similar was used in Tarhalindur's Ocarina of Time Mafia - a player who was Town in the Present and Mafia in the Future.
