Hello all! My name is Maggie and I'm new to the forums! Pleased to make y'all's acquaintances~

Right off the bat, let me specify that this isn't my first forum mafia game-far from it, actually! I actively play forumsite mafia on a different website, and I have a good amount of experience with irl mafia as well. So don't expect many beginner's "what the fuck is going on" questions from me!

That being said, I don't know what forum etiquette looks like around here, so lmk if I mess up somewhere or say something I'm not supposed to. The forumsite I'm coming from is a lot less strict than most and so if I missed a rule somewhere around here, feel free to PM me about it!

A few heads-up about how I play, though.
I'm a vomposter. (Vompost = >100 posts in a single game). I doubt I'll reach that many posts here, but be forewarned that I post a lot!
D1 shitposting. Probably won't do much here since on the other site I play on I know everyone really well and can thus meme with them, but I may do a little shitposting here and there.

Well, I personally am still not sold that all scum chose guns, I think it's feasible that at least one chose rose. Even the PT Enchant posted earlier shows that scum chose a rose in a previous iteration of this. I also don't think we should base elims off gun claims. I'm of the opinion to let the gun claims shoot each other at Night and we do some good ol' fashioned scum hunting for D1. Neither Enchant nor Wheze claimed what nigh their gun is, but I guess the assumption is N1, if either are still alive tomorrow then that's a better time to scrutinize them.

Everyone who has a gun has to die at some point in the game. That just makes sense.

My posts towards Wheme basically are self-evident. If he does something townie I'll townread him but he isn't doing anything and he's a gun so there's no reason not to kill him.
Enchant I think is trying to leverage his claim in a way that has wolf motivation.

For me it is +winrate to opt to go out of my way for me to make sure that enchant and wheme's shots don't resolve. They're not doing anything that is distinctly townie and there are a bunch of other players that are responding to events in ways that I feel are townie. It just makes sense from my pov to opt to flip those 2 slots and not resolve their shots

Dunn is gut with how they responded to some people but it's something that can be wrong.
Cakez I feel a bit more confident in. I don't have any problems with how they have engaged with this game. I'm probably not going to revisit it until much later.

and not dying as scum is actually more valuable then one extra kill usually especially when town vig shots will also be hitting town sometimes to compensate

The BP is very situational and very narrow where as a gun is something you will always get value out of. Not to mention guns just provide more dopamine than roses so you will have players just do it for the dopamine. It happens more often than you think in some card games.

This game would probably be different if Enchant and Wheme were actually town picking gun and behaving in ways that are actually town. If the players felt townie, I would have probably kept my mouth shut about being a gun.
Wheme is distinctly not townie so they get flipped. If they flip town I won't feel bad because flipping Wheme is a very effective way to read Wheme in this gamestate. Townflip will still be valuable to me.
Enchant I dislike based on how they leveraged their claim. I think their play has a lot of wolf!motivation behind it. It can come from town, but the fact they're playing this way demands that they get flipped.

But I think I have many townreads that are just better. I still have a bunch of players I have no read on yet, but I can focus on reading those players once I get Wheme and Enchant flipped, as flipping both of those will make solving a lot easier for me in the future.

Like trying to get himself cleared w/ a play like this is in his playbook. I don't know what Wheme was doing throughout the majority of Datisi's Cafe. Did you know what he was doing throughout the majority of that game? Let me tell you he claimed 2-shot neighborizers with costs to use those shots that didn't make sense and he immediately died the next day. Do you know what he was doing when he made that claim? I also modded a large theme where he randed wolf and I also could not tell you what it was that he was doing or how he survived for so long. There was also a large theme where I didn't post for most of d1 and I identified him as town just based on his stance on me and in that game he was actually playing villager.

ig it depends on what you're intending to do
If you just need to get rid of people to make it easier to win the game later then ya you bus after and you're not rly bussing for cred at that point you're bussing to make the game easier.
If you're bussing and you WANT cred you bus before the ability has a chance to be used.

I don't think the scum team decided to bus dunnstral because if they did Bulge wouldn't be fighting me, he would be bussing Dunnstral. I also don't think it makes sense to bus Dunnstral before he gets his shot off. Scum are usually pretty careful about their optics on bussing - which is why I don't think any of the early voters on Dunnstral are mafia.

idunno I agree with Ari the only thing I feel like even remotely passionate about is like either flipping redados and then flipping cakez because wynaut (usually when I say this about cakez he flips town btw like this is just a historical trend now that I think about it) but like let's just flip redados I agree the game is probably just over after they're gone

ya so after night 1, this game only really gets difficult if it gets to F3 but that's just the decisions matter and it also means that someone is playing exceptionally well. Pretty easy to just run a bunch of players through a lawnmower to get to that point.

N1 rose is a very solid choice for you when you're villager
