Yaaaaaaaaawn.

It's an overcast Thursday morning, and you haven't had your coffee yet. You stumble blearily out of bed and into the bathroom. A bright distorted patch of yellow attacks your groggy eyes through the speckled privacy window, causing you to abandon brushing your teeth for the time being. You turn tail and stumble blearily down the stairs, tripping on the penultimate step and landing face first in front of the french door that leads to the street, where the same blotch of yellow greets you with the blurry letters C... A... T. Some portion of your brain speculates what kind of cat would be that large and grotesquely blinding as you stumble blearily into the kitchen, where... you discover that you forgot to set your coffee maker the night prior. Augh.

Cursing bitterly to yourself, you grab your glasses off the kitchen table, pull your bathrobe tighter around yourself and shuffle out the door to your mailbox only to be rudely interrupted by a bright yellow bulldozer in the road. Hanging off the towering blade of the bulldozer is your friend, Bob. Bob doesn't look too good. In fact, after rubbing your eyes and adjusting your glasses, one thing is quite clear: Bob is certainly not going to be your wingman at the bar tonight like he promised. Damn.

It's not long before all your nosy neighbours figure out that there's been a murder in the middle of their beloved cul-de-sac. As more and more of the residents gather around, one thing becomes clear: one of you is guilty of this murder. In fact, probably even more than one of you. It takes teamwork to string up a guy off the blade of a bulldozer, y'know. And then there's the spray-painted lettering on the back of the bulldozer...

General Rules/Conduct:

1.)

You may not quote private Moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.

2.)

There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it.

3.)

No heavy use of ciphers or encryption is allowed. If you're not sure whether something counts you should ask the Moderator before using it.

4.)

If you have a role with a Night action your choices are due to me by the posted deadline.

If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline your action will be chosen at random. Note that "No Action" is a possibility.

5.)

Roles with Night actions will not be able to submit an action on Night 0 (i.e. during the confirmation stage).

6.)

Any player with a Night action may instead submit a “No Action” PM to let the Mod know that you do not want to perform your expected action that Night phase. Again, note that if you do not send me anything whatsoever, your night action will be chosen at random.

7.)

You should aim for one post every 48 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.

8.)

I am the Mod, not your babysitter. Be civil to me and to your fellow players. This means

While cursing is fine,

any slurs or severe asshattery will result in an immediate forced replacement/modkill and a blacklisting

This means you can say "fuck", "shit", "damn", etc. all you want (as long as it is not part of a personal attack on someone), but the moment you say something that intentionally or not puts down or shows disdain for a group of people because of sexual orientation, able-bodied/mindedness, race, religion, gender, profession, personal experience etc. like "gay", "retarded", "bitchy", "whore", or "raped" as a synonym for "totally pwned you", etc. etc. you are not welcome in my games, present or future. I doubt this will be a problem, but I want to make sure all my bases are covered and that this is a safe space for

everyone

. Keep in mind that this rule is up to my discretion, not yours, so if you have even a shadow of a doubt that I might consider a word to be a slur, ask me (via PM or AIM) or use something else.

Voting, Deadlines, and Player Death:

10.)

A simple majority of all living members must agree on one person for a lynch to occur.

11.)

Once you have reached a simple majority no further unvoting will change someone’s fate.

12.)

Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all players including the one who was lynched may continue to post during twilight.

13.)

Please submit votes as:

VOTE: PlayerName.

Votes will NOT be counted if they are not bold! Obvious abbreviations or nicknames will be counted so long as they are unambiguous.

Note that the vote tags format votes correctly and are encouraged. (Caps are not necessary.)

You may

VOTE: No Lynch

- if a simple majority of the players are voting for No Lynch at any point the day will end in a No Lynch. Otherwise the no lynch votes are just like any other.

16.)

This game will have 3 week deadlines. At deadline, the player (or No Lynch) with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the tie breaker will be the player who has the first active vote on them. Should there be no active votes at deadline no one will be lynched.

17.)

I reserve the right to shorten the deadline

if I do not feel that the amount of posting is adequate, or if discussion has been too stale for too long, or if I'm feeling particularly grumpy that day.

18.)

You may petition me for a deadline extension, either privately or in-thread.

Amount of players required to petition me and amount of extension given is up to my private discretion, but it will not be less than one third of the living players and the extension will not exceed one week (unless I am searching for replacements).

19.)

Once you are killed (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post. You do not even get a "Bah!" post. You may, however, post this picture of a llama to indicate your discontent:



In fact, I kind of encourage it.

20.)

is reserved for the Mod. No invisible/small text is allowed.

21.)

If you have an issue/problem with the game, please PM the Mod privately. Do not post issues/complaints in the game thread.

22.)

The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.

23.)

Please

bold

all requests to the Mod so that they don’t get missed.

24.)

Prods of missing players will be issued automatically after 72 hours of no activity or upon request after 48 hours of no activity. A prodded player has 48 hours to respond or risks replacement. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to replacement without further notice.

25.)

Rules violations will be dealt with according to their severity, up to and including a Modkill.

26.)

If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

27.)

The flavour text is for entertainment purposes only. There is no setup or role information to be gleaned from the flavour. Don't even bother trying.

28.)

I reserve the right to break, bend, or modify any of these rules at any time, or add new rules.

29.)

Feel free to send me any thoughts you may have about the game at any point (via PM or AIM). If you're the kind of person who occasionally has to go ARGH to someone when things aren't going your way, or you just want to gloat to someone about how awesome your team is playing right now, I am okay with listening.
