Also knowing you've been nominated is always nice, this just feels really passive and distant.

I've read the scummies idea thread and that, I still dislike their removal.
This remains a team game, and should be seen as such.

No, but you'll find there are also awards there for the best team. Teams get awarded for being the "best", that isn't only "teamwork" that applies to that. "Teamwork" is an aspect of good town play but to be a best team you need more than just that, a town that only works together well but can't do anything else won't get anywhere. The whole "it's just an aspect of play" isn't right.
