Perhaps you should let the 2009 scummies finish first....unless you're claiming he's going to lose.

People do this?

I think a self-nom would be very rarely warranted, imo. If your play was good enough, then the other players in your game should recognize it. In the rare case that you can objectively say that, yes, you're play was outstanding in some way from a normal victory and enough time has passed that it seems none of the other players in your game are going to nominate you, then it is probably acceptable.

Forcing the judges to sift through a bunch of detritus probably shouldn't be encouraged.

I couldn't tell you, but I imagine if people start self-nominating a ton of games it would be more difficult to find the worthy games.

Wouldn't more games = more informed decision. As is you're not picking the best, you're picking the best nominated.
Just like in many things, you'd reach a point of diminishing returns. Worthy games should be nominated indeed, but filling the judges' plates with fodder intuitively seems like a bad idea.

Clarifying on this now that I have a finished game with hito.

His flowcharts and pic posts are pretty amusing.

Nominate Sotty7 for Don Corleone for Gonzo Mafia

Sotty has time and again proven she's an excellent scum player who doesn't afraid of anything, but after both of her scum buddies were lynched Day 1 and Day 2 in this game I was certain she didn't have a chance. Did I mention she also had her kill prevented Night 1? Yeah.

Nominate Percy's Stars Aligned II for Best Setup and Best Flavor Text.

This was a really epic game and, for a change, an extremely complex one that ran relatively smoothly. Both the town and scum factions played very well at different points in the game and after five months of hard battle it game down to a nail-biting four player mylo.

Not sure if they town's trouncing that game was the result of town playing well or the scum playing really really badly.

Well, unless his other account is public knowledge the nomination is null. Unless you're insisting that the site should take your word for it. The fact remains that known alt is known, and that leaves a question mark as to whether or not Fate qualifies. It's up to Fate whether the scummy nom is worth it or not.

Well, I guess public is a strong word. I would guess that the entire scummies committee would need to know at the very least. I just know that I've gotten the vibe from you before that you're an alt of someone older...so, whatever I suppose. As long as it's checked out as legit by someone of authority, I don't care too much.

Nominate MacavityLock for Best Role Claim in A Clash of Kings

I was in a hydra with MacavityLock this game and he basically singlehandedly saved us from a lynch because he whipped together a masterful claim in a matter of hours. We were scum and he came up with the claim after we were tracked to a dead body. It had just the right mix of flavor and involvement of living townies to WIFOM us out of the lynch and survive the rest of the game for a split scum victory. We were the last scum alive for our team on Day 4 when the claim happened and we survived to victory on Night 8. Probably one of the best claims I've seen in my time on the site.

Also,

Nominate New Award: Best Hydra Performance

Hydras are becoming increasingly popular on the site. While not everyone particularly enjoys them and some players even despise them, I think it takes a certain skill set to actually play well in a hydra and good hydra play deserves to be rewarded. Not only does this help recognize players who do well, but it will help demonstrate to newer players how a hydra should properly exist in a game (ie, not schizo).

I would prefer a separate award that is more about the mechanics of playing a hydra well, not pulling out an epic win.

I don't necessarily agree since I'm not, you know, nomming myself. It was a good claim that essentially got us to the endgame. I mean, I get what you're saying, but in the strictest sense of the word it's not true.
