MeMe, JEEP, and I have all won BHS in the past, I believe. VRK is nominated for 2008?

I also think it's premature to nominate for it now, but if a nominee were to flake, I'm sure the Judges would correct it come judging time.

Nope, but for me at least it raises the bar for a second awarding.

Also,
I second Llama Fluff for Best Player (Scum)
in Mafia 86. Nice work.

Nominate JDodge for Professor Mafia for empirically/scientifically showing a glaring hole in the Open Game Nomination process.

Breaking a setup sounds like Professor Mafia to me.

Huh? I thought we were talking about Kinetic, not JDodge.

Player:
q21
Game:
War in Heaven II
Award:
Either
Best Effort in a Losing Cause
or
Best SK
, despite the fact that he ended up losing.
Details:
q21 got an SK role (Satan) in a 20-player mostly-Nightless game. In addition to that, he had to deal with a posting restriction, and that his kill-method looked decidedly anti-town. He managed to play middle of the road for the first half of the game, then claimed
Michael the Archangel
to explain his extra abilities. If things had gone just a hair different, he'd have locked up the endgame and won handily. I gave him an extremely difficult role and he didn't bitch about it once, but played it to the hilt.

I'm not sure they always liked it (I heard more "oh god kill me now" in this game than any other I've run, and that includes Lost Boys), but they certainly engaged with it! And right up until the end of the game it was anybody's game to win...

Some days had more than 400 posts. No, not Game Days; 24-hour periods.

Simenon wrote:What is the Best Role Claim award for- the finesse of the claim itself, or its impact on the game?
I think it's usually done for the finesse of the role claim itself; if it has a huge impact on the game it tends to get rolled into one of the 'bigger' Scummies like Best Individual Performance. YMMV.

Fixed for you. (I know we don't do anti-nominations, but...)

I don't think it's a good example of a Scummy-winning game, and it eventually boiled down to a Game Mechanics puzzle. There was almost no scumhunting, which helped lead to a bizarre 7-man endgame and Scum win.

It was last year, by mith at least.

It would probably help if it was under Site Awards, to emphasize the global nature of the qualifications.

He didn't say activity for activity's sake; he said it was an enjoyable level. Considering all the complaints we've had recently about games dragging, what do you think the unintended side effects will be?

Activity makes a game, and we (Me and the rest of the players) made that game happen. I enjoyed reading it to the very end, even though I did get lynched Day 1.

I'm all for it, actually. There's a small segment of GD that's not dreck, and highlighting that segment isn't a bad thing.

I'll probably have noms later. Meeting now (and me w/no laptop).

I'm pretty sure that's the implication of "we don't pay attention to fourthing, fifthing, or Nthing of nominations".
Oh, that's not how I read that at all. In previous years there have been fifths, sixths, sevenths, which just spam up the thread. Mith's point is that it doesn't add anything to the nomination to have those vocal supports.

If he's said that thirds are required or the Scummy Planning Team has decided something else, that's cool.
