[01] This is a game. Play to win and have fun! This game utilizes an experimental design which is mostly replicated from Survivor: Medevac Island. As such, most game design elements will be new to players. These include replacing usual challenges for a long-term numerical system, 12 hr phases, inclusion of tasks which affect your standing in the game, and
INABILITY TO PM
. As such, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you do not sign up if you feel that you would not enjoy this game and have difficulty adjusting to new elements, especially with the limitations of communication.
I repeat, PMs have been removed from this game.
[02] Joining this game implies that you will try your hardest, be active, and be respectful to be mods, players, medical crew, and spectators. Dr. Joe does not want to have to pull anyone from the game due to medical reasons. As such, play to win! Follow all boilerplate rules for the Mafia Scum forums. Don't forget that Social Large Game Queue mods are watching this game. Anything that applies there also applies to this game.
[03]
. This is a change from most other games. The majority of communication will either occur through your tribal forum, or small groups. However, during every single phase, there will be plenty of moments during which small group or private communication will be allowed through a forum. You will have the opportunity to chat with select others at your Task Day task, Challenge sub-groups, Camp Day gathering locations, and other opportunities. Do not use any other communication methods throughout the game. Do not forward, quote, or screenshot any mod PMs or posts.
[04] This game is ANONYMOUS. All participants are strictly prohibited from so much as hinting to their own identities or implying another player's MafiaScum identity. Communication outside the forum is also forbidden unless otherwise stated. This also includes communicating with someone you know to be spectating. Because PMs have been turned
for the entire game, it will not be difficult for us to see any infractions of this rule. Failure to follow this rule can result in a variety of consequences ranging from a terse warning to one's elimination from the game. We reserve the right to determine the severity of possible infractions. Do not modify avatars, birthdays, or other profile elements as this may also affect implications of your anonymous identity.
[05] The mods' decision is final. However, if you notice something that feels off or dissonant with the rules, please point it out to a mod privately and we will correct if needed. Due to the complexity and novelty of the game mechanisms, it is expected that there will be confusion about some expectations and rules. It is highly encouraged that players privately ask a mod for assistance as much as needed prior to making game decisions. Moderator contact information has been provided to assist you.
[06] Exercise common sense. If you are unsure as to whether an action conflicts with the rules, ask. Yes, this is a competition, but do not attempt to undermine challenges or game mechanics for your own gain. This violates both the spirit of the game and common respect mentioned above. If you choose to take an action which is determined to be against the rules and you have not asked a mod prior to taking such action, mod understanding will be limited and consequences may apply (warning, modkill, etc).
[07] Posting or linking to any form of NSFW content may result in modkill, replacement, or even blacklisting from all future games. If you think something is borderline or questionable, it's probably banned.
[08] We reserve all rights to modify or implement new rules as needed. If you feel that a rule or game mechanic has been unfair, please bring your concern to a mod first.
Task Day
Task Day will only last for
. It takes a lot to keep a camp functioning and a tribe in good health. In addition to competing in challenges and attending tribal councils, you will spend some days with your playeers performing the necessary tasks to sustain life on the island. On Task Day for
, you will be only able to communicate in a marked thread with any tribemates performing the same task. During that time, you will not be able to communicate with players outside of that thread. Upon completion of task day, you may communicate again in your tribal forum and any other chat threads available to you.
Fire
-> You spend the day in the shelter tending the fire. It must be stoked according to a schedule based on the quality of your shelter. The fire must be going to boil water for consumption and to cook fish and other sea life.
Water
-> You trek to the water well to collect a jug of water. Each jug can slake the thirst of three people, and those who don't get water before competing in a challenge will be dehydrated.
Fish
-> Taking the boat out to fish requires 2 or 3 people, and successful consumption of your catch requires fire.
Grove
-> Collect coconuts from the grove. Anyone may go out to collect coconuts. Coconuts are tasty and you might find more than one, but they do not require fire for successful consumption.
There are additional tasks available to you, though performing it leaves you isolated for the duration of the Task Day.
Hunt
-> You search the jungle for the ever elusive Hidden Immunity Idol. Any time you choose the Hunt task you must make a nonrefundable stamina bid. There is no way of knowing how many others might be searching at the same time. The highest bidder will receive an idol clue. To claim the power of the Hidden Immunity Idol you must find the hidden immunity idol somewhere in the forum.
Snails
-> If you fail to submit a task choice before deadline or if there are no spots left on your fishing boat, you will be stuck picking snails from the underside of the boulders all alone. Snails may be eaten.
Challenges may take the form of immunity, reward, or stamina challenges. Generally players will spend stamina during the challenge, and the team/individual who best plays to the objective of the challenge will be the winner and earn the benefit that the challenge offers. Players each start with 1000 stamina at the beginning of the game. Stamina cannot be transferred between players at any time. Unless otherwise stated, any stamina used during the game will be consumed and cannot be refunded.
Small amounts of stamina can be regained through various ways in this game
Earned via Immunity/Reward Challenge feasts, auctions or reward items
Earned via Task Day tasks
Stamina can be used through various ways in this game. Stamina cannot be spent during a Tribal Council vote except during a tie vote (*see tiebreaker section)
-Spent during Immunity/Reward Challenges and Auctions/Chat Bids
-Spent during Shelter/Gather tasks
-Spent during Tribal Council tie-votes
If a player ever reaches 0 stamina, s/he will be disqualified from the entire game via “medical evacuation (med-evac)”. If a player has been removed via med-evac, the tribal council for that episode may be cancelled in its stead. Players who intentionally med-evac by their own volition will lose their standing in the game and will be considered as DQ rather than their natural placement in the game. If a player was in the jury phase and chose to complete an intentional med-evac out of the game, that player will forfeit his/her place in the jury as a result.
Exhaustion and dehydration aren't the only routes to a Medevac in the game of Survivor! In this game we will introduce the concept of injuries which players may incur by making dangerous choices throughout game events and challenges.
Each player can sustain one injury. Having an injury makes that player susceptible to further misery.
Sustaining a second injury means an immediate Medevac for this player, no questions asked.
Injured players are at risk of infection, a status of permanent dehydration. Every challenge is tougher when you have MRSA.
Players may incur injuries for overexertion or encountering dangerous situations. Players will be notified in their confessional of the injuries that they experience.
Camp Day / Tribal Day, Gathering Places and Camp Supplies
On Camp Day the tribal forum is open. This is the only time the tribe can eat rice or take advantage of other camp supplies like live chickens.
During Camp Day, players will have the opportunity to pull one another aside for private chats in the jungle, on the boat, and elsewhere. A limited number of duo and trio chats are available. Those who choose to do so may bid to have their preferences honored.
These special bids will be called chat bids, and must be submitted before the end of each challenge. Each chat bid should be submitted as a single stamina bid paired with a ranked list of tribemates from most to least preferred and a choice of either pair chat or trio chat. At the beginning of camp day the available gathering places are doled out based on the preferences of the highest bidders. Bids will be processed in order of highest bid, with selected chatmates being removed from the bidding order.
For the immunity-losing tribe, these chats will close after 24 hours of Camp Day, at which time the tribe makes the walk to Tribal Council. Immunity winners will have access to the chats for the entirety of camp day while the losing tribe is at tribal council.
Players will be given
, but are welcome to make votes in advance during Camp Day. When a tribe loses an immunity challenge and attends tribal council, the tribe will have the opportunity to discuss during Camp Day for the first 24 hours after the challenge results have been posted. Upon the 24th hour, the players will make the walk to Tribal Council, upon which all private communication will cease, and players may only speak in the tribal council thread where tribal council questions will be posted. Each player is given a single vote (except if a reward changes this) and each player must vote for another player in their confessional prior to the 12 hr deadline. Players may submit conditional votes in advance of the walk to tribal council if they cannot make the
. Once all votes have been submitted, they will all be considered to be locked and no further changes can be made. This also includes using any hidden immunity idols. Tribal Council may end early at that time, and the player who receives the most votes will be eliminated from the game.
During tribal council, a player may request a secret last-minute whisper session with 1 or 2 additional players. However, the stamina cost of this will be the total of all successful tribal chat bids for the round.
If a player fails to vote when required, they will lose 50% of their total stamina and will also earn a self-vote. No stamina is required for voting in a tribal council unless the tie break mechanism is triggered. The other players who are not attending tribal council may also use their gathering spaces as desired until the end of tribal council.
Tribal Council Tie Break Procedures:
If a Tribal Council ends in a tie vote, all players whom have received the most votes (which was subsequently tied) will NOT be sent back to the voting booth. They will remain seated and will not have to use any stamina. All other players will participate in the re-vote. Each of the remaining players at the tribal council aside from the players who received the most votes (which was subsequently tied) will re-vote for one of the players who received the most votes AND will also submit how much stamina (minimum: 1 stamina) s/he would like to spend along with his/her vote.
The player who receives the most votes will be voted out. All stamina spent will also be consumed. If a tie remains in the re-vote, then stamina spent will be counted and the person for whom the most stamina was spent will be voted out. If a tie remains in stamina total spent, all stamina will be consumed and this step will be continue until the tie is unbroken OR a voter ends at 0 stamina. If a voter during a tiebreak ends at 0 stamina, this player (and any others at 0 stamina will be “med-evaced” and the tribal council will end without any further eliminations.
