That's me!In post 42, Xalxe wrote: One was because between the two finalists, one was clearly going to win. Everybody knew they were going to win, THEY probably knew it, but they sucked at Final Tribal. Don't know if they checked out or what. The other finalist I thought gave an excellent FTC performance, even against the odds, so I voted for them as a reward, knowing I was probably going to be one of two votes for them. Didn't think they'd win, didn't think they SHOULD win, but I felt they deserved reward for their performance.
With my jury vote, I just usually gut-reaction it. The way I play I'm not often a huge factor in the finalists' games, so there's not much left to hash out. It's usually the person whom I was closest to.There will be no kisses tonight

It's horrifying though. Especially when games only happen once a month at the fastest. That's a long time to wait to try something risky and then get voted out and have to wait. There will be no kisses tonight

Anon games aren't a perfect solution (IT WASN'T LOVE, IT WASN'T LOVE) but it has done well to prevent many pre-game relationships from becoming aligned, which is probably a better thing
Also if there were to be a skype chat I'd want to be in on itThere will be no kisses tonight

hey in everyone's free time
Could a guide be put together on how to make the forums for anonymous (and I guess with Magic Kingdom, non-anon) games? That always seems like the most daunting process, what with permissions and groups and making sure enough things are kept secretThere will be no kisses tonight

Chevre's spur-of-the-moment shinning star confessional guide
1. ORGANIZATION! I always am more open to reading a confessional if it's clearly organized. In the past I've tried to delineate by making a thread for each round of play; in Nexus I stepped this up by putting what tribe I was on and how many were left in the subtitle. It just makes it a lot easier, especially if you want to see a certain player's thoughts in one part of the game. Breaking it up by tribal phases is OK, and I guess if you keep it in one thread it's at least chronological, but scattered thoughts throughout a forum can really put up a barrier to reading.
2. BE RAW AND INTERNAL. I mean, to me it's just kind of like "spout whatever's on your brain!" but it's all about knowing yourself and keeping it responsibly linked to the game. I mean, just think of it as though you're really playing and you're telling yourself what you need to do to advance, what you think of people, why you are or aren't trusting them. The spectators are enjoying the game but they also want to understand the game, and it's hard for them to do that if you aren't divulging a ton to them. I try to start every thread with a tentative plan of attack for the round, and then update after every major event. Doesn't have to be anything extravagant, could just be "Think I'm gonna go after Valla." or "after this swap I'd really like to align with Wasabi and Roisin."
3. VARIETY. I think ideally confessionals should have a mixture of short and long posts. It's good to sort of regroup and post thoughts on everyone and everything and form a big wall every once in a while, but do it every round when not too much has changed and it'll be boring. Short posts really work well for in-the-moment updates, such as during the beginning of a shipwreck, or an idol hunt, or a down-to-the-wire TC. Plus you can always be a little ~quirky~ and random!!!!1!!!11, just don't overdo it!
4. OTHER THOUGHTS:
- It's up to you whether or not to reveal yourself to spectators. I've revealed in my recent games, but it seems like they cotton on pretty soon anyway. I think revealing can give the spectators a bit of perspective on you, as to what the expect and how you're diverging from your status quo.
- I think you can whinea little bitabout your situation, but push it too far and you become . . . well whiny, and just, it's hard to care for. I know I pushed this limit hard in Nexus, and it's not something I endeavor to do again. It may be something to divulge to a mod or something. IDK.
- I had more points but like I said I did this all very spontaneously so I've obviously forgot them all. But maybe I will update laterThere will be no kisses tonight
