I was worried that the trajectory thing isn't distinctive to fferyllt, or that she doesn't quite reach titan levels of play because of it. So I did some field work to determine for myself if fferyllt is all she's cracked up to be. This quest took me to many parts of the site. I traveled to New York. From there I took the long trek to Rome, my eyes aching all the while. On the way, deep in the wilderness of MD, I often found myself trapped in the muck of wall-posts; hours would pass before I'd find myself wakeful long enough to escape. At one chaotic juncture in a Theme Park, I was forced to leave behind my only real friend, my wonderful sense of humor. Eventually, though, I made it to the fferyllt mausoleum in the Mafia Wiki, where she had inscribed intellectually respectable stuff (i guess) about her trajectory oriented playstyle eons ago, far longer ago than any gimmick has ever survived (besides I guess Zorblag's thing). I had finally found what I was looking for. I had finally found...validation.

Also, you're wrong about the reference being better (neither are references, really, it's just the title of the song), and definitely wrong about being a better song.

I agree with Panzer. The Mr. Brightside nom seems kind of like a slap in the face to Ari, all things considered. And even if we take out the deeper context of the song lyrics, the two titles are so similar in name as to not be worth replacing one with the other.

He would indeed be the only user with a permanent BANNER, but if the issue is with IMAGES, he wouldn't be unique in that regard; there's precedence. (Albeit rare.)

I actually thought about this too and decided it would nullify the point of the blank banner and make it less apparant that it's not an actual award banner.

Also I'm against the idea of temp titles because as someone said earlier it would set a precedent that just invites more shitposting. Plus, I feel that since titles are gifted by the community to its users rather than being user-made, they should be permanent by default, otherwise it devalues the nature of giving the title as a gift.

The only difference in this case is that the title got further along in the nom process before I limboed it. The title was never implemented, so I disagree with the position that I'm locked into it now.

Look I'd agree with you if the title was newly at this point - i.e. you pmed the user and then realised you didn't like the title so rescinded it.

I've got a lot of respect for you Psyche. I was pretty riled about the latest incident but that was a 1-off thing. I've never had an issue with you before and I usually love seeing the insight from your posts (and not just regarding titles, but on the forum as a whole). It's sad that the last issue pushed you towards stepping down, but if it's because you feel you're getting too emotionally invested with it then I get it. There's lots of other neat stuff you've done and will do for the sight that I'm sure we'll all still appreciate, and I hope the next Title Fairly is someone who sincerely cares about the site like you do.
