holy shit that is an atrocious modIn post 408, Ranger wrote:Please don't ban me, this is actually a serious suggestion with actual circumstances beyond the initial backing for it.
Nominate drmyshottyizsik for the title of "BUSSED SO HARD".
For what happened here.
To clarify, shotty was town. He got told by the mod more information than he should have been given.
This would have been nothing if the mod had confirmed his story...but the mod explicitly denied the error, which rendered shotty as "confirmed scum".
As a result, shotty got lynched, mostly by the town.
Over the course of the day, we also learned that there were other things going on in his life: a cop pulled him over for no logical reason, so beyond being bussed by his scumbuddies in one game (actually, there's now a second), he was bussed by the MOD (an impressive, unique feat), bussed by REAL LIFE COPS, and bussed by the town.
I genuinely, legitimately think this is a noteworthy event.
like, actually awful
remind me to never ever ever ever ever play a game by this mod ever-

Hey look it's exactly what this extra time is for..?
I don't see how a discussion that is literally to do with your name has "nothing to do with your title". It hasn't already been passed, that's why there's the 48-hour discussion period. It is not only fine but literally set up for people to bring stuff like that up in this time, as it is relevant to the title and its appropriateness.-

I mean as much as these Accountant titles may represent him and his personality and views, they really come across as sarcastic jabs rather than anything appreciative. I mean, literally comparing him to the crusades in his title? Titles should be commemorative. This comes across as little less than bullying.
Can I anti-nom by default any Accountant titles referring to his moral views? If so, that please.-

I think you may have slightly misread what Chevre said. When he said about "causing people a lot of needless agony", he's not talking about Accountant in general, he's talking about Accountant's views. Hence why "I can't think of a time whereIn post 2436, TheButtonmen wrote:
Fuck literally everything about that.In post 2433, Chevre wrote:. I mostly agree with Davsto and Psyche on this issue. Accountant's outlook on the world is certainly notable, but it's not something to commemorate. Frankly, I think he's caused a lot people needless agony due to his uncompromising nature. I can't think of a time where it was a joy rather than a point of stress.RejectDeus Vult
I don't say that because I personally like the title, I say this as a former title fairy, fuck that rational so very fucking hard. You don't fucking get to play favourites, I don't care if you think Accountant is the biggest piece of shit since Genghis Khan decided to take the mongols on a road trip. It's notable, it's got lasting appeal and it's so very very strongly resonates with him. Get the fuck off your high horse you unbelievable arrogant piece of shit, we don't bother doing the job to get to decide who's beliefs are "worthy" of a title or who's posting we like enough to reward.
Is it a good title yes or no? The second start adding anything else to the decision process then its time to hang up your hat and give the role to some new blood because you've stopped doing it as a service to the site and started doing it to stroke your own ego.was a joy rather than a point of stress".it
And as a result of the way people generally react to Accountant views, the title becomes inappropriate. Especially since those suggesting the title such as Shaziro are those that seem to have been annoyed and frustrated the most by Accountant's views and arguments with him, so that makes me doubt any sincerity in the suggestion of the title itself. The purpose of a title is to celebrate the trait that it represents, not to just acknowledge its existence, and definitely not to subtly (or not-so-subtly) criticise it, such as by the titleliterally referencing the Crusades.
(Also, "lasting appeal" is a pretty arguable term when this is probably the title I've seen the most anti-noms for, ever).-

Can you tell me, in all honesty and seirousness, that this is a "good" title? One that isn't intended to insult or degrade? One that is intended as a "gift" to someone that "possess notable traits or quirks that make them outstanding members of the community"?
Admittedly, it's not up to Chevre to decide whose views are acceptable. But that'snot what he's doing. He's saying that the title is unacceptablebecause it is not a positive representation of Accountant's viewsregardless of how much he agrees, something which can be told by looking at the people supporting the title and then looking at how they feel about Accountant's views.-

So you're saying that a title which compares a user's views to the Crusades is a good title? That it is meant to commemorate and celebrate those views? Because if so, you have a pretty twisted notion of celebration. In post 2473, TheButtonmen wrote:Yes.
I can't be arsed to discuss this with you, since you're clearly not backing down despite all logic, because putting down Chevre is more important to you than making sense apparently.

I just don't feel the attitude should be "wow this user deserves a title let's think of an attribute of theirs which deserves one". At the very least, what part of the user should get the title should be fairly well-established before discussions on the exact title should begin.
I mean, I'm not an arbitrator so feel free to ignore me, but I feel that if a user doesn't have an obvious trait for the title, maybe it's better to wait until one is present rather than forcing a title out-

I'm not sure
I never really used to be a pun (or really even vaguely amusing tbh) person until I was a member of the chat for my old site I used to be a part of and made a pun once or twice. I then became "the pun guy", and found that making puns in there started to come more naturally to me. Join this site and the pun thing is part of my character from the start, along with more general humour. This has now seeped into my real life personality and I make people laugh and also exasperated by humour and puns
I'm not entirely sure of the relevance, that just sorta happens, but there's a rare insight into me
How fun
Maybe it's more of a Spidey sense? I've got super good at spotting pun opportunities, to the extent that occasionally I'll hear a sentence and my brain thinks "there's a pun there somewhere" about five seconds before I actually think of the pun which is weird
But like a few months ago someone asked me the question "what comes in pairs" and my immediate reaction was "someone with a fruit fetish" and I don't even know how I reacted that quickly with a response that wasn't even already in my brain
Help I think I've lost control of the puns and they are now the ones in control of me-

Overall though I'm supportive of a title in theory because it is very distinctive and intrinsic to his personality and that is way more important than whether or not it's a good trait (I mean people have had titles for being angry people or for getting lynched often and they're not good traits) in making a good title.
I say "in theory" because I've yet to see a good title to represent it, and I doubt I'll see one any time soon. I can see it being a very difficult thing to come up with a good title for.-
