Nominate pie for Even When He Doesn't (Get His Title)
Honestly though, guys. Let SK work. If you have an issue with the job he's doing, PM him. If you continue to have an issue or your issue is an existential problem with the mere fact a title fairy exists, PM me. If you think that we're REALLY clever and think title arguments are the opiate of the masses there to distract you from our tyrannical rule, keep it to yourself or you'll be shipped to the mines.
But please keep discussions that aren't about specific titles out of the thread.

Some things benefit from the addition of process. Other things are harmed by it. In this case, title discussion already verges on too-serious rather than fairly lighthearted fun to build community.
In any event, I'm getting tired of seeing policy discussion in this thread rather than title suggestions and discussion about those titles. If you want to make a thread discussing how the Title Fairy should operate, please start a new thread about it.

- UT is not fat (yet sassy)
- IIRC it spawned from LoL? Which UT doesn't play often anymore, AFAIK.
- Something something Gay Mafia.
- Knowing UT in-person, I can say 'it just fits'. UT is the kind of person to take a nickname like that in stride and not as an insult or anything.
That said, I can see some people taking issue with that as an actual title, obviously, so.
so this is origin for that title, just fyi
oh gosh! You actually noticed that I made that group for you. I can't remember what you said that made me do it.

Treating titles like they need to be super good is silly anyway. I'd much rather have a steady stream of mediocre titles than one or two titles every six months or something.

If we can't think of a good way of synthesizing a users unique personality on the site, the most likely explanation is that they don't yet deserve a title, not that we should think harder.
Settling on something that isn't that good is even worse, since people tend not to suggest titles for those that already have them. It means when the user does do something that is title worthy they won't get a title based off of it, and that's super lame.
Titles aren't just candy that everyone gets. They're a recognition of something specific. Trying to recognize something specific when nothing specific has happened yet is the actual silly part.
I don't know, I think that's as much a reflection of how hard it is to get titles out than anything else. If titles were given more freely, no one would be concerned about finding a new one for a user and going through the annoyance that involves.
Anyway, I'm not arguing for just giving them out willy nilly. Quality control is an okay thing -- as many bad titles as there are there are far worse ones that are suggested. I'm just saying that we as a group should stop trying to act like titles are some sacrosanct thing that must reach super duper levels of awesome.
Mediocrity overall is okay because in general the people who get their titles (and those involved with whatever it's based on) think they're more than that.
Uh well speaking unofficially it doesn't bother me. Cooldog's is wanker, after all. profanity isn't okay, but dildo isn't profanity, is it? unless i'm not just up with the lingo of kids these days.

Just to be clear as I understand why it's confusing: my post wasn't intended to be a Red Decree or anything. Just posting as an individual that SK should be awarding titles that people want (within reason), not withheld because someone is being annoying.

Like most titles, it will fade until it's a story about the title. But so what? Also wouldn't really mind if his title were changed until the next year's. That's long enough for a fun temporary title.

It has a "these are two scummies that were given and then removed years and years ago even though everyone else gets their scummies for only one year" vibe to me.

If someone won Paragon AND Don Corleone in the same year that would also be title worthy, regardless of whether those scummies existed in future years.
It'd be one thing if it were Paragon Don Corleone, right? The two top individual awards. But winning two awards that others haven't shouldn't qualify one for permanent hall of fame status.

I have no problem with being immortalized in the wiki or having a title that recognizes that. Or a scummy for it. I have a problem with Scummies For Life

What permanent hall of fame are you talking about. A title is just something under the name of someone.
Is CoolDog forever in the hall of fame because he has the title "wanker"? People approved Vi's title long ago, that means people were ok with Vi having this title.
1. wanker isn't a scummy. Putting Professor Paragon as a title that lasts forever immortalizes the scummy win in a way that others do not have.
2. People were okay, it became a title. It's still a really bad title that I disagree with.
i feel like a lot of the older ones had more thought put into them. they truly "fit" the person
Back in my dayyyy
No. Not really. At least as long as I've been here, titles have not been some sort of glorious weighing of a person's soul. My title came from a single action in a single game.
now I see titles for people
no one
I don't
know
s
fixed.

That said, if they haven't gotten out of road to rome, that does introduce an interesting issue. Is that something that actually happens frequently?

you can figure out which of the skittles is the most verbose behind the scenes with some detective skills now! (The answer is quadz btw!) Though your actual numbers will be different if you're on various hidden groups like scummies judging and what not (since your search will find these).

Possible, though unlikely for people with that many posts. I could use Zor Tester to run the exercise, i guess? did you compile it based on the database?
