My opnion on day one in any mafia game is that there is so little if anything to go on, that it is just a pot luck shot whom to lynch. That said, I'd prefer to keep players in the game who are posting, because only by posting can scum trip up. So:

I've done a re-read and my money is on Thok and Prof Binky as the scum couple. Nothing definite (duh), but Thoks initial manoeuvering (posts 4 and 10) suggests a link with PB to me, and PB's extensive analyses (posts 71, 103, 107) remind me of my playing the first time I was scum.

Thansk Thok. Post 155 confirms for me for 95+% that you're scum. Both the "vaguely tempted" formulation and the "why is he still alive" play are as scummy as they come. I would now vote Thok. Although Binky is most likely scum as well.

If you read my posts again, you will see that I clearly stated that I suspect them BOTH to be in this together. The only thing that changed was my ranking, with Thok now getting the pole position. I'm still thinking Binky is the other scum.

I must say that RandomActs reasoning appeals to me more than Vaughns. I will need to re-read the thread from the point of view that Vaughan is currently the most likely scum, rather than the pair I suspected.

I've done a quick scanning of the posts, but I have not come to a definite decision.

I'm thinking RandomActs is most likely town, unless he and Vaughn are scum together and came up with a brilliant gambit. Kudos to them if that's true and they pull it off. For the moment, WIFOM dictates RandomActs is town.

Vaughn therefore most likely is not town.

Prof Binky's posts keep setting off scum alerts, espceacially the line "I hope I am making the right decision!!!". On the other hand, if Vaughn is indeed scum, would Prof Binky sacrifice his scum buddy so quickly? Not impossible, because it is a reasonable gambit to play.

Thok remains an enigma for me, the main thing I had against him is a weak link to Binky in the opening posts - but then again, there is a similar link between Vaughn and Binky. His post 155 on the other hand set off my scum radar as well.

This is a very interesting choice of victim. Normal play would dictate that after Vaughn was revealed as scum, RandomActs would most likely be town, and therefore the obvious choice for the night kill. Still the remaining mafia decided to kill off Binky.

I'll do a re-read, but for now I still tend to go for WIFOM and consider Thok the most likely last scum.

Well, no answer yet? I still need to re-read the thread, but after thinking through the night choice once more, I'm 99% sure that RandomActs is the scum. I find it a likely choice if RA is scum, and a weird choice if Thok is scum.

Interesting observation: there

was

a doc-tell from Fritzler, but not a very clear one (post 66) - I missed it on previous re-reads. In my experience, scum tend to look in more detail than most townies, but even so, for an inexperienced scum couple to spot this whilst Thok and I missed it would be quite nice. Or they were just lucky. Or there was an experienced scum in the couple (Thok).

Overall, Thok has been more convincing, in particular in the last day. In hindsight, the Vaughan/RA argument does look a little staged. The choice of Binky as last night victim's would be illogical from Thoks-scum point of view. Also the casting of his vote on RA in the end game does not feel scummy - a scum would try to keep options open, especially with RA possibly being swayable to vote for me.

Whoever of you is scum, great game. I don't think I can get any more information.
