Good, your vote tells us 2 things:DarkLightA wrote:I have to say that I get suspicious of My Milked Eek due to his "interesting" vote..
Vote: My Milked Eek
1) your vote isn't random
2) something is off with my vote according to you
If you could elaborate on the second thing please.
Obviously.moose wrote:Is this some sort of scum tactic?
No, seriously, it is easier for us to tie posts to a person with visual material, such as avatars. It also adds more character to you as a poster/player, imo.Eek!-

You didn't really answer our questions, but let's start with what we have:
You see, it was a pointless reason. I got that, almaster got that and now you admit to getting that as well. If you acknowledge it was a pointless reason, why did you think of it as suspicious?darklight #028 wrote:My idea was that My Milked Eek voted for a pointless reason (the avatar).
Relax, my friend, the game is young and the wine is still plenty.DarkLightA wrote:People! Be sensible!
Notice how My Milked Eek commented on my vote, and then Jed Cooper comes in and agrees with Eek, and asked me to explain my vote, which I already had done in my post.
Now Eek asks for avatars, and moose comments on this. Then guess who comes in to support Eek?
1) What was so suspicious of my vote that made you vote for me?
2) Would you say that Jed agreeing with me is a sign that he is a scum trying to buddy up to me or is it a sign of him trying to scumhunt?
3) What do you think about moose's comment?
4) Same as #2, does jed appear to be buddying or hunting scum to you?Eek!-

I want to make sure that dark understands what he's saying, it appears to me he isn't really aware of the gravity of his vote for me and his following posts. Don't think that I'm not suspicious of his behaviour right now. I just don't see it fitting to vote him just yet.Jed Cooper wrote:
I'm just questioning the "easy treatment" you are giving Dark in a "coaching him through it" kind of way.My Milked Eek wrote:
Who am I defending where exactly again?Jed wrote:No. MY question is why is Milk defending you here. Are you two scum buddies?
I don't really see the line that connects point A to point B really.jed wrote:Then Moose said he disagreed with your points on all counts and the idea came to me that maybe you both were scum?
1) You didn't really explain why I'm suspicious. And before you're going to reference that one post you made, let me tell you that that is not a good enough reason.dark wrote:I have been suspicious of both Eek and Jed, and now I'm counter-voting Jed because he voted for me
This should be pretty clear if you were to read my previous posts.
2) Are you suspicious of Jed only because he is suspicious of you?
3) Why are you ignoring my questions?
OMGUS:
Oh My God, You Suck (for voting for me).
In essence it's a retaliatory vote, in other words you vote a person only because they voted for you. And usually that's the only reason to vote.
Do note that not all cross voting is omgus.Eek!-

1) You do realize that games usually start with a "random voting stage" (abbr. rvs), in which players "random vote" other players to get some discussion started. This isn't always necessary and some games start without them. Some players even refuse to random vote.DarkLightA wrote:1) It started when you posted that awkward "I'm the only one who can have a Pokemon avatar" post.
2) No, because he backs up everything you say.
3) I answer them if I want to answer them.
You see, there was no actual reason behind my vote, other than having a vote placed somewhere. The reason I picked almaster was randomly picked.
Now, if someone were to say "I find player x suspicious" in their first post, people usually expect some explanation.
2) Does that make him suspicious? Me? Or you, the subject of our shared suspicion?
3) Sure, but you do realize that not answering questions makes you look evasive, which in turn does not aid your case.
Now, if you will go back and answer all of my questions.Unvote.Eek!-

I understand your point, but I wanted to let darklight figure out on himself that the reason jed is suspicious of him is not to "support me", but because dark has been acting rather suspicious.AfroLaX wrote:

I play real-life mafia all the time, like once every week or two weeks at least, but we barely use accusations like that. I feel playing real-life mafia helps with being a bit more aggressive and with reading reactions.
So, did you think your play was aggressive? Because I don't, especially not after you unvoted jed after some minor pressure.
Did you find any interesting reactions amongst the other players?
A rather interesting opinion/comment as it tells us absolutely nothing about your opinion on darklight. And even if it does, it leaves a lot of wiggle room for you. Either way, I don't like this post.maemuki wrote:@Jed, I think he's definitely trying his best to try and find scum...or he is scum or he's trying to wave the suspicion off him to another person. My opinion on dark is that he's an overeager newbie, who, yes, made mistakes and felt slightly scummy to me, but his most recent comment, however, feels like a scum slip up to me:

The avatar was a suggestion. I have suggested it several times in several games as have other IC's in many other games. No where did I boss everyone into getting one, I suggested getting one because it is easier for everyone to remember you by as at the time of the suggestion there were 4 avatarless players. I couldn't care less if there was one player without an avatar, but 4 is a bit too much.moose200x wrote:

My opinion on moose is a mixed one. I can totally understand it from his playstyle to act like this, especially when pressured. Although if he is a townie, I'd rather he'd change his style a bit >_>
That being said, I'm not sure if he's scum. There's a lot of noise compared to the signal and I fear we're focusing a bit too much on the noise. The noise is mainly brought forth because of the behavior of other players, so I'm not sure whether the catalysts are more scummy or him. I cannot say, though, that I like the signal we're getting. So let's just say, it's "do not have a read yet, but leaning towards scum".
Whom I do have a nagging feeling about is CSL:
- fence sitting
- trying to appear a bit too protown
- eagerness to lynch
But I need to get a proper reread :)Eek!-

My attitude will not change. I am hear to find scum and dominate the game. My playstyle must be able to flex and fit in the changing environment tho.
One proble I believe is that alot of you arent from america. Perhaps it's a culture difference between us but I do not feel i've acted scummy nor have I acted in any manner that deserves a lynch.
lol
1) your playstyle indeed does dominate the game, but obviously not in the good way. I either suggest you adapt a new style or use your current one to find scum.
2) mafia isn't about one player dominating the game, believe it or not, it's a teambased game. In fact, one player dominating is counterproductive.

I'm going to post some notes I took while reading the game. You can skip, they're not essential to anyone else, but I spent some time making them >=(
If you want to skip, skip until you see a bolded "conclusion".
Notes
What started the moose suspicion, imo, is the combination of his playstyle and unwillingness to listen to "authority". I say "authority", because I think he thought I was trying to "play the boss". It all escalated in post #071.
Now, if I were to judge his play up until that point, I'd label it as antitown, selfish and unthoughtful. But I wouldn't call it scummy.
After #071, it all escalated after a lot of people got on his back for it. Jed, AfroLax and DarkLight. Even CSL did with his second post (#084). The way I see it and feel about it, there's one scum pushing moose at this point. My gut ached the most when reading CSL's post.
Mooses next post (#088) is the infamous "as a mafia" post. I'm still not sure what to make of it. You cannot really call it a slip, because the words are too unambiguous to be a slip. They're also contradictory:- ... And as mafia I promised my partners...
After he posted this, CSL and I questioned him about it. A bit late to the venue, DarkLight asks the same question as us. And almaster uses this moment to vote for moose. (I think that's 2)
Afrolax logs on and posts #101. In which he insinuates (but not yet) that dark and moose could be cooperating. Sure, it could be that they are, but this is a funny way of taking away the suspicion of a buddy.
Moose tries to scumhunt, but the attempt is a bit sad. It results in him calling two of his three voters scummy + dark who hossed him. First appeal to emotion. This post is, imo, the scummiest up until now, only to be followed by #088. NOTE: Afro asks for a hammer.
The unfortunate thing about moose's play is that he thinks he found scum with every other post (#116), while he actually isn't saying anything more than a big "NO U".
The funny thing about this post is the reaction of CSL in the following post:- "moose, as it stands now, you're going to have a hard time having people believe what you say, scum."
Some futile discussion, up until #131. CSL wanting to hammer moose.
Dark, L-1's moose.
Rehashing the old no u comment.
!read if moose flips scum.
I stopped caring to take notes, but it comes down to moose calling mae a lurker, interestig bit by dark, odd fos on dark by afrolax, from my pov an odd pairing made by afrolax, lol an attempt at trying to drag me down with him, csl fossing dark for the same absurd reason as afrolax.
That's about it.
Conclusions
There you have it. A reread was necessary to gather all my thoughts, because we have passed the 200 post mark in less than 3 days, which is insanely fast. Guess we all have no lives and too many time to spend on the Internet. Especially when we start to consider sleeping to be lurking.
Anyways, on to my conclusions;
>> Moose
After having read his posts more carefully and in detail and ease, I'm inclined that he's scum. I'll put my reasons into bullet points:
* consistent omgussing
* calling people out on their so called scumtells, yet he takes no action (i.e. vote)
* calling people lurkers, when they're sleeping... This is actually under the nominator "incriminating people on a weak basis", but calling it the way I did sounded more funny.
* trying to drag down another player
* ridiculous reasons to discredit the wagon (culture reference)
I'm ready to hammer him suspiciouswise, I'd rather wait a bit longer for a replacement to be found, to be caught up and such and for other people to post a bit more (CSL, looking at you).
>> CSL
Aside from the other points I already brought up in #161, I found a few odd things. (repeating first three reasons from #161)
* fence sitting (even now he's not willing to share his opinion)
* trying to appear a bit too protown
* eagerness to lynch
* appears to be bussing moose and tries to look more protown-er by getting "agitated"
As for him bussing, read his posts in isolation* and tell me what you find of his stances towards moose. And yes, I did say it's not useful to do at this point, but I felt it necessary to point out right now. Do note that the possible bus isn't decisive in my opinion of CSL and that I thought funny of him before I saw a possible bus.
* isolation reading is:

I'm GMT+1. The weather is nice, there's few clouds a nice breeze, the sun was rather hot. This morning I had Coco Pops for breakfast, I ate a sandwich for lunch and steak for dinner. The song that's playing right now is "Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed" by Bowie. And no, I do not know why kids love Cinnamon Crunch.
If you have time to spare, do not ask irrelevant questions, it'd be better if you used that time to reread and post some opinions.Eek!-

I don't see why the IC doing this would be relevant.moose200x wrote:To Eek, Since you are an IC, I have a request.
How about you reread and isolate my posts but pretend that you lynched me and I was town. That is what is going to happen anyways and it would allow me to help town out by being able to post some thoughts and feelings.
I understand the case agianst me is VERY strong. I would just like to be able to help us win the game.
Everybody else, feel free to do the same. Pretend I am town and I was lynched then reread my posts and let's see what we can come up with
1) this isn't animal farm, my opinion isn't more equal than the others
2) this is useless wifom speculation, we'll look into your suggestion when the time comes (i.e. when you flip (doesn't matter what you'll flip))
3) instead of having us build your cases and as thus alleviating the suspicion on you: do it yourself. I reread the thread today. You popped out as most scummy.
Argument invalid. (explanation below)moose wrote:You are going to look pretty stupid in the near future.
Hypocrite. (explanation below)cls wrote:Afro, moose is somewhat correct. If he turns town on lynch, you're going to look suspicious. IGMEOY
Argument invalid. (explanation below)moose wrote:Beware the people who say stuff "moose brought it on himself, we had to vote for him"
Hypocrite. (explanation below)cls wrote:Afro...if he does turn up town, you will be in a bad spot.
Explanation:
1) Moose flipping town has no real consequences for afro or anyone on his wagon, the wagon is highly justified and based with a lot of reasons. Afro is correct (and it's unnecessary to say it) in saying that "it's a risk he's willing to take". I see nothing wrong with someone voting for someone they believe to be scum. I think it's very protown actually. Take a step back, moose, and think about it.
2) Let's _assume_ Afro would be in a bad situation, cls, assume. I think it is you who will be in the worst one of the moose-wagoners if he flips town.
Given the current exchange of posts concerning moose flipping town/scum/the bird, cls has risen even higher on my scum list, because of how he unvoted and is now using the "you'll look bad" argument very conveniently to incriminate a player who deserves it not.Eek!-

I don't see the connection between moose flipping anything and afro being something.CSL wrote:Ok, I've examined all the posts again, and have this to say.
If moose is lynched
If he turns townAfro will look really scummy
If he flips scumAfro is obvtown
If moose is not lynched
We obviously get no information, and we might lose 0-2 townies during the Night Phase.
Any questions?
Tell me how you're so sure if moose flips scum that afro is town.
Tell me how you're sure if moose flips town that afro is scum.
Again, I'm calling you a hypocrite and a backtracking, incriminating one to add.Eek!-

It's not the unvoting that's suspicious. You made it pretty clear that you were still suspicious of him. Even "strongly hossing" him at one point and reassuring him of your suspicion at another one. To say afro will be suspicious if he's wrong is really hypocrite.
Sorry, CSL. Unintentional misspelling. Fun fact: someone had misspelled my username as "My Milked Eel".Eek!-

What good will come of that? Setup speculation at this point is antitown and proscum.CSL wrote:@Dark: I'm not saving my own skin. I'm just stating what could happen if the setup was this way, or that way, or whatever.
Not the old moose trick, is this?csl wrote:You know what, I grow tired of this argument about how I'm scum, because then you're going to have to deal with suspicions all around once I'm gone.
Sorry. moose is at 3.csl wrote:Vote: moose

See the big post a few pages back and add my new accusations + my vote.Jed Cooper wrote:I have to admit that CSL is actuallymorescummy in my eyes than even Moose is.
@All:What is your opinion of CSL?
1) you're at 3. Jet, Me and Dark.C wrote:Will anyone say what the hell protown behavior is? I have no clue.
Eek, 2 things.
One, I'm at 2.
Two, you misspelled my name again.
2) Meh, I'll call you C from now on; It's just that there's this abbreviation in Belgium that starts with CL.
Protown behavior is behavior that aids the protown win condition. There is no universal law here, common sense is used to seperate antitown and protown behavior or to recognize both.
-meh- Yet another appeal to emotion. You're fueling your own wagon.C wrote:-sigh- The same thing is going to happen just like my other game. How unknowledgeable can you guys get?Eek!-

It's easy accusing the absent, for they cannot reply.CSL wrote:Belili, for not posting ANYTHING at all.
Not to incriminate him, but why not "neutral"?C wrote:AfroLaX, because I have nowhere else to put him

Or maybe you should just wait for the mod to decide when to replace. He's already being very lenient by searching for a replacement a day before his rules would allow him to find one.CSL wrote:Maybe Belili should be replaced now...I'm an impatient one, dammit.
