Wipeout (CSL vs. Fench vs. jmj) Board 3!

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sat Mar 19, 2011 6:10 pm

Post by mallowgeno »

ROUND ONE

If there is a returning champion from the previous game, that player goes first in the first round and the next two people in the queue challenge him or her, going in signup order. Otherwise, the next three people in the queue go, playing in signup order.

Each player, in turn, selects an answer that fits the category listed above the board. The first correct answer on the board is worth $100 ($25 in the first two matches) and each correct answer after that is worth $100 more ($25 more in the first two matches) than the last one, up to $1,100 for the eleventh and final correct answer. The player may pass once he or she has picked a correct answer for that turn; however, if at any time a player selects an answer that does not fit the category, that player loses all money earned in the round and his or her turn.

There are three boards in round one, with the values being doubled for the last board. The second player goes first on the second board and the third player goes first on the last board. The player with the lowest score is eliminated at the end of Round 1. If there is a tie for last, then the person with the fewest correct answers is eliminated; if it's still tied, the person who got the most wipeouts is eliminated.

One of the correct answers on the last board is hiding a Hot Spot, or a prize. To win it, you must win the round without wiping out. If you wipe out while holding the Hot Spot, the HS is put back behind one of the correct answers left on the board.

You may speed up the game by guessing multiple answers at once; however, I will go through them in the order you give me. If you put a wipeout in the list, I will ignore everything after it.

ROUND TWO

The player with the higher score (more correct answers if tied; fewer wipeouts if still tied) starts the bidding on how many correct answers he or she can find. There are eight correct answers out of twelve on each board in Round 2. The other player may then make a higher bid, alternating until one player challenges the other or someone bids to find all eight answers.

The player that wins the bid then tries to select answers, one by one, that fit the category as before. If a wrong answer is revealed, then the challenger can win the board if he or she can find one answer that fits. If that answer is also wrong, the bidder then attempts to complete his or her contract. If the bidder wipes out twice and the challenger fails to steal the board either time, it's a draw.

The first to win two boards goes on to the bonus round.

BONUS ROUND

There are six correct answers and six incorrect answers. You have three chances to select the six correct answers. If you don't get them all, I will tell you how many you got right. If you get all six, you retire undefeated. If you miss, there's next match.

OK, we've got our three players and the challengers for the game after. Let's play!

Green has a lot of good connotations. It's the color that allows you to go through a traffic light. It's the color of nature and of money. Can you find 11
shades of green
on this board?

I've decided that I'm going to allow speeding up the game by guessing multiple answers at once; however, keep in mind that I'm going to go through them in the order you give me. If you put a wipeout in the list, I will ignore everything after it.

The first five are right, but the last one is a light bluish-purple. You lose $375 ($25 for mint + $50 for clover + $75 for emerald + $100 for lime + $125 for jade).

cjdrum, it goes to you. Six right and four wrong left.

I'm going to go with Veridian - I know a small amount of French, and the French for green is 'vert'. Linked?!???!?!!

Then I'll go with Chart Reuse for hilarity, then stop.
